Yes, Dying Light has a “Loot Cave”! Everyone loves a fun Easter egg, and this is a good one. Remember Destiny? The game you’re probably still playing despite your best judgement? It looks like the guys and gals at Polish developer, Techland are as addicted as the rest of us. Perhaps a sneaky level designer decided to have a bit of fun, thinking it’d take longer than a couple of days for folks to find it. Silly developer, never underestimate the power of the internet! Whatever the reason, we love this Dying Light Easter egg.
How to Find Dying Light’s Loot Cave
The Dying Light loot cave serves the same purpose as Destiny’s loot cave did originally, to provide you with phat lewt. First, be sure to go in well stocked on med kits, and equipped with some decent tools of destruction, because there will be blood. First, head to the top right section of the game world. Specifically, the northeast part of the map, past the slums. Here you’ll find a path that leads to a secluded inlet. Follow the path, eventually you’ll come to a section blocked off by a pair of makeshift wooden barriers. Jump over the barrier and you’ll land in some water on the other side. Swim underwater, following the path until you get to the loot cave (don’t worry, it’s pretty much impossible to get lost here).
You’ll emerge in a small cave with a mound of dirt in the center and the remains of some unlucky bugger, much like Destiny’s famous loot cave. Off to the side, you’ll find a large box grouped together with some other collectibles you can snag. After a minute or so, a message will appear on screen that reads “Your destiny is to build your legend (and get loot).” Ha! Good one, Techland!
Now be ready, because at this point a horde of angry zombies will begin to spawn. Once you’ve killed all of them, another message will appear on screen that reads “Enough! Patch 1.0.2 has been released! Do more quests!” Good advice! Claim your loot, exit the cave, and keep kicking undead ass. Thanks to Redditor ZackyWillz for sharing this.
If you’d rather watch than read, YouTuber Gaming Spite has created a short video that shows you just how to get to the Dying Light Loot cave. Techland, if this is why you pushed back Dying Light’s release date so many times, we forgive you. Now please, don’t patch this easter egg out.
