So far so good it seems with Telltale’s newest episodic series based on the hit HBO series. After seeing a few leaked screenshots from what seems to be this trailer it’s great to finally see the latest Game of Thrones game in motion. (Lets just hope this one is better!)
As you heard in the trailer Lena Headey will be reprising her role as Cersei Lannister along with Peter Dinklage and other cast members. Telltale has had a great run of recent years with games such as The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us, impressing critics and gamers alike. Game of Thrones is of course not their only known next series. Players will be controlling five members of House Forrester in their story and will interact with series favourites such as Tyrion Lannister voiced by Peter Dinklage, Cersei Lannister voiced by Lena Heady as well as many others. It’s a great addition characters will be voiced by actual on screen talent.
Telltale themselves had this to say about the new Game of Thrones title:
“Based on the award-winning HBO television drama series, Game of Thrones: A Telltale Games Series tells the story of House Forrester. Caught up in the events of The War of the Five Kings, they are placed in a precarious position where members of the household must do everything they can to prevent the house from meeting its doom.”
The game will be played from five different points of view. Each is a member of House Forrester; either a direct family member, or a person in service to the House. Scattered across Westeros and Essos, each will play their part in seeking to save House Forrester from destruction. Players will interact with series favourites such as Tyrion Lannister voiced by Peter Dinklage, Cersei Lannister voiced by Lena Heady as well as many others. It’s a great addition characters will be voiced by actual on screen talent.
Playing as five characters not only reflects the epic scope of Game of Thrones, but is also something that the player needs to be mindful of. This is because the actions of one character can ripple out to affect the rest of House Forrester. Multiply the actions of one character by five, and you’re truly playing the Game of Thrones… where you win, or you die.
Taking place at the end of season 3 through to where season 5 begins, Game of Thrones: A Telltale Game Series looks to have some important and worthwhile tales to tell. With no official release date as of yet other than maybe the end of this year this new Telltale series can not come any quicker!
