BlizzCon 2014 date has been announced, along with ticket prices

The favorite time of the year for Starcraft, Diablo and Warcraft universe fans is most definitely BlizzCon. This year’s event will take place at the Anaheim Convention Center during November 7-8, Blizzard announced earlier. Tickets will be available for purchase in two batches with the first one starting on May 7th, while the second will follow shortly after, on May 10th. The tickets will cost $200, while tickets for the BlizzCon Benefit Dinner will cost $750 and can be bought starting on May 14th. All the money raised from the benefit will go to the Children’s Hospital of Orange County.

2014 is already shaping up to be an epic year for Blizzard and the only way it can get even better will be at BlizzCon 2014. So far, the company has made a quite a number of announcements and reveals, let us make a quick summary of them shall we? The first big news came on March 11th when Blizzard announced the release of Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft. The CCG had been in open Beta since late January and more recently was also made available for the iPad.

Just two days later Heroes of the Storm entered its Technical Alpha phase, the MOBA was later featured at Pax East where the company also announced Curse of Naxxramas – A Hearhstone Adventure. On the 25th of March Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls had a very successful release. The expansion was highly praised by Diablo fans and managed to sell over 2.7 million copies just in its first week. Last but not least, World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor also entered its Alpha phase on the 8th of April.

Also, let’s not forget about “Overwatch”, Blizzard’s latest trademark that was filed under gaming-related services, we might be looking at a brand new title coming from the company at some point. Finally, the last announcement came in the form of “Azeroth Choppers”, the World of Warcraft/American Chopper crossover webseries which already aired its first episode last week. Phew! Is that all!? That’s all the important stuff anyway, unless I’m forgetting something.

It’s been a very busy year at Blizzard but E3 is approaching fast and preparations for BlizzCon 2014 have already begun it seems so maybe the company is not done just yet. “Overwatch” sounds intriguing enough, hopefully we’ll find out more about that. Their MMO project Titan that was announced long ago is also something to look forward too. Let’s not forget about Starcraft 2: Legacy of the Void either, which will be the final expansion for the popular RTS. Blizzard still has a few tricks up their sleeve and maybe they will be willing to share something more in the near future. One thing is for certain however, with all these announcements pouring in it looks like the company’s legendary “soon” trademark is starting to fade out.
