Although Naughty Dog and Sony have been mostly focused on The Last of Us Remastered as of late, they still haven’t forgotten about the PS3 version of the game. Sony Entertainment announced earlier today that The Last of Us: Game of the Year Edition is scheduled to arrive to the PS3 on November 11th. This edition includes the original game as well as the Abandoned Territories and Reclaimed Territories multiplayer map DLC, Left Behind prequel DLC and the Grounded bundle. That pretty much covers all the additional content released after The Last of Us came out back on June 14th, 2013.
For those of you wondering, this edition is only coming to the PS3 because the PS4 already has The Last of Us Remastered, which also includes all the extra content. Some will probably argue that Sony is milking this franchise by releasing a third version of The Last of Us now (including the Remastered one), but people will undoubtedly purchase the game regardless. At least, those who are going to be able to as the Game of the Year Edition was only announced for Europe so far. There is no info on whether or not the game will also make its way to the US and other regions, but we’ll let you know if we learn anything so stay tuned.
Synopsis: “Joel, a ruthless survivor with few moral lines left to cross, lives in one of the last remaining Quarantine Zones. These walled-off, oppressive cities are run by what’s left of the military. Despite the strict martial law, Joel operates in the black market of the city, smuggling contraband for the right price. Joel is asked by a dying friend to look after Ellie, a fourteen-year-old girl with courage beyond her years. What starts out as a simple job to deliver Ellie to another Quarantine Zone, soon transforms into a profound journey that will forever change Joel and Ellie.”
