Dying Light, the first-person “parkour” shooter from Warner Bros. and Techland will be featuring a brand new Be the Zombie Mode, in which you will be able to “invade” other players. The downside is that gamers will not be able to enjoy this mode, unless they have pre-ordered Dying Light. The general assumption is that this new DLC will be available as a separate purchase for those interested. In Be the Zombie Mode you will embrace the power of a supernatural zombie with unparalleled abilities, called the Night Hunter. As the Night Hunter you will have the chance to invade other players’ games. If you have pre-ordered Dying Light, consider yourself lucky because this DLC will be included as a bonus. Here is what game producer Tymon Smektala had to say about the new Dying Light addition:
“Online players can face the threat of a possible invasion of their game by the Night Hunter, an extremely powerful, human-controlled zombie mutation. These invasions are an inherent part of Dying Light, available on all platforms for all online players from day one. However for our hardcore fans who pre-order, we’re offering them a bonus – Be the Zombie – which lets you actually take control of the Night Hunter and invade online games of other players.” Smektala also explained that in spite of the fact that the game is pretty big, they’ve added this bonus gameplay element in order to give players the “ultimate zombie survival experience.” Dying Light is set lo launch next year on January 27, so we should expect a Be the Zombie DLC around that time.
The game is being developed by Techland and will employ an in-house Chrome Engine 6. It will feature a dynamic and varied open world gameplay with day-to-night shifting cycles and weapon-crafting. During daytime, players will be scavenging for food and crafting items, and after sundown they will be facing much more aggressive and dangerous zombies. The game is set to release on PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Take a look at the new Be the Zombie trailer below:
