Titanfall 2 is a game that had a rather odd launch. Sandwiched between Battlefield 1 and Call of Duty Infinite Warfare, it had very stiff competition. Because of this, it ended up performing rather poorly, failing to meet EA’s expectations. This is something that is proving to be rather disappointing, for a couple of reasons. Not only is Titanfall 2 a very well received game, being nominated for the Game Awards, it is also championing some radical policies. Respawn Entertainment has promises that all DLC and updates for the game will be free. However, all is not lost, as Titanfall 2 is receiving a free trial, that could potentially help the game.
Titanfall 2’s free trial has a rather odd schedule. Despite being called a weekend, it technically begins tomorrow for EA Access and Origin Access members. This is an interesting approach, although I have to question if limiting the audience of a multiplayer game is wise. Despite this, it will be open to all players on December 2nd. With no strings attached, gamers across all platforms will have access to the free trial. The time at which the free trial ends has not yet been specified.
As mentioned before, DLC for Titanfall 2 will be free, and the first bit of it will coincide with the trial. It is named Angel City’s Most Wanted, and it brings quite a bit to the game. A map is included in this update, Angel City, as the name would suggest. A remake of a fan favorite map from the original Titanfall. In addition to Angel City, the DLC also includes six new Titan kits, a new pistol, and an execution. The ability to purchase cosmetics will also become available. Angel City’s Most Wanted will be released on November 30th for those who pre-ordered Titanfall 2, and December 3rd for everyone else.
