After claiming that they would never make another South Park video game, Trey Parker and Matt Stone decided to throw that in the garbage and just make a new game. The Ubisoft press conference kicked off immediately with the reveal trailer for South Park: The Fractured But Whole (get it?)
This new entry into the South Park game series is going to be following the same basic formula gameplay-wise that South Park: The Stick of Truth did, but will be taking a different theme. Instead of the kids of South Park playing as superheroes, this time around the South Park team will be digging the Coon and Friends theme out from their closet.
Unfortunately, we got very little information about this new entry into the South Park game series – it being just a teaser – but we got enough. Fans of the last South Park game know exactly what to expect, and I can guarantee they won’t be sidappointed. When Trey Parker and Matt Stone stepped out on stage, they remarked that “At the end of South Park: The Stick of Truth, we learned how to make games.” I don’t think anyone got the idea that The Stick of Truth was bad, but hey – now we know that its sequel is going to be even better.
They didn’t tell us on what day South Park: The Fractured But Whole will be releasing, as is customary for this brief E3 reveals, but you can most certainly get on Ubisoft’s website and pre-order. I never condone pre-ordering, but I think it’s safe to say that we can trust this new South Park game to be something worth our time.
