Divinity: Original Sin Coming to Xbox One and PS4

Divinity: Original Sin launched on PC, Mac, and Linux in June 2014 to great critical acclaim. It sold almost a million copies and has an extremely dedicated fan base, with some even calling it the best RPG in years. Now, Larian Studios and Focus Home Interactive have teamed up to bring Divinity: Original Sin to Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

As a prequel to 2002’s Divine DivinityDivinity: Original Sin sought to bring the cRPG (Computer Role Playing Game) back to life in a stunning fashion – and it definitely succeeded. Isometric turn-based combat, an easy-to-use party system, co-op missions and dialogues, a deep story, a reactive environment, and a huge game world made it one of the coolest games of 2014. The game has a social system that keeps track of the relationships between players. The coolest part of Divinity: Original Sin, though, is that the title shipped with an easy-to-use editor that allows players to create their own single-player and multiplayer quests and play through them as well as share them with friends.

Earlier today, Larian published a brand new trailer for the game as well as a press release that describes the new additions that will launch along with Divinity: Original Sin Enhanced Edition:

  • All characters are now fully voiced by AAA-voice actors
  • New quests, new characters, and new content
  • Entirely new gameplay modes and character builds
  • A heavily rewritten story with a brand new ending
  • Massively reworked visuals and sound effects
  • The Enhanced Edition will be completely free to everyone who owns Original Sin.
  • And much more to be announced in the coming months!

Alix Wilton Regan and Alec Newman have been confirmed as two of the AAA voice actors, and more will be announced soon. Local co-op, split screen, and controller support (for PC/Mac/Linux) will also be included in the enhanced edition.

The game is set to be released by the end of 2015. More information will be announced at E3 2015, where Divinity: Original Sin will have its own booth.
