Every single Mario Kart game features three difficulty modes. We have the 50cc mode recommended for beginners. We then have the 100cc for players wanting a bit more speed. Finally, 150cc which is the fastest mode in every Mario Kart game. In the last direct, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata revealed the brand new 200cc mode. For the first time ever, players will be able to go faster then ever in Mario Kart. The 200cc mode will no doubt test the skills of the best Mario Kart players.
The 200cc mode will launch alongside the Animal Crossing DLC. The addition of this mode breathes new life into Mario Kart 8. It gives gamers a reason to replay through each cup with 200cc. One of the courses in Mario Kart 8 that’s built for speed is Mute City. The course is available for those that have purchase the first round of DLC. Nintendo recently released a trailer showing the Mute City course in 200cc. As you’ll see below, taking control of the Kart will be tricky. If you aren’t careful, you’ll go off the edge. Gamers that are used to using the Wii remote motion controls might have a hard time controlling their karts.
The second batch of DLC will feature three new characters and eight new courses. The DLC and brand new 200cc mode will launch on April 23. An update will be released on this day. The 200cc mode is free for everyone to download. Mario Kart 8 will turn a year old in May. It’s great to see that Nintendo is still supporting Mario Kart 8. Even if you decide to opt from purchasing the latest DLC, you can still enjoy a brand new mode. On April 23, Nintendo in a way will be re-releasing Mario Kart 8.
