Huawei has scheduled an event for April 15 in London, during which the Chinese company aspiring to become an international leader in the smartphone industry, will unveil the Huawei P8 and most likely a Huawei P8 Lite version, too. A new series of leaked Huawei P8 photos have shown up on Chinese websites yesterday, and although they do not reveal much of the actual design of the new Huawei P8, they do offer a good amount of credible information to go on. The Huawei P8 release date is set for April 15, but these new leaked photos don’t seem to show the actual flagship, rather a “lite” version of it with inferior specs.
The new Huawei P8 leaked photos show a pretty big device, encased in a plastic frame that will not let the design elements show through, in an effort to keep the phone a surprise to those that are attending the London event. The Huawei P8 hands on shows off the display and the approximate size of the smartphone, as well as a bit of its metal chassis. A piece of the plastic has been lifted in one of the photos below, revealing a dual SIM card tray in the Huawei P8. Either a dual SIM card or a SIM card tray and a microSD card slot, we’re not entirely sure as the images aren’t as revealing as to tell us that for sure.
We’ve come to the conclusion that these photos depict the Huawei P8 Lite version because of the specs shown in the About phone tab on the display. According to that information, the Huawei P8 specs would include an octa core CPU, 2 GB RAM, 16 GB internal storage,EMUI 3.0 on top of Android 4.4 and a 192091080 resolution display, most likely measuring 5 inches. In the photos we are treated to the usual EMUI user interface and the on-screen navigation buttons, as well as a few camera settings that are accessible in the dedicated app. While the photos are not spectacularly revealing, they do provide a hint at what the Huawei P8 launch event holds in store for fans.
These photos and the specs listed make us think that the Huawei P8 will get a Lite version, with a more mid-range construction and specs. most likely aimed at those who are on a budget. We’re still very curious about the flagship Huawei P8, which will supposedly get a larger display, higher resolution, better processor and a newer Android 5.0 Lollipop software. Take this rumor and the hands on Huawei p8 photos with a grain of salt, though.
