This is your run of the mill, end to end encryption calling application, one that is from a company called Open Whisper Systems, who provide end to end encryption for various big companies and services, including WhatsApp. With the app, you can place secure calls and you don’t even have to create a separate account because RedPhone uses your phone number instead. It’s a very lightweight and easy to use app that is completely secure and protects your conversations from being intercepted by third parties. As usual with Open Whisper, the app is completely open source, so that you can dig through the code to find any exploits, but you most likely won’t. It’s free in the Google Play Store and it has an iOS alternative. Open Whisper is also planning on integrating all of their services into one app, so that their offering will be cross-platform between Android and iOS and other devices that you might own.
