Samsung Galaxy E5 and Galaxy E7 pricing cut by company

Samsung has listened to feedback from customers and has consequently cut the prices of the brand new mid-range duo, the Galaxy E5 and Galaxy E7. These two metal-clad smartphones are Samsung’s way of making up for the overly expensive mid-ranger which has already been discontinued, the Galaxy Alpha. The Galaxy E5 and E7 are two mid-range smartphones that have received a bit of a price cut today in India and should be launched officially in stores in March, after the MWC is over.

The new Galaxy E5 and E7 prices are just a bit lower, but we do expect them to fall a bit more once the devices hit stores, as the prices published by Samsung are official ones and will surely change in stores. Currently, the Galaxy E5 price is set at ~$288, while the Galaxy E7 price is set at ~$336. Considering the specs these phones come with, those prices are still rather high compared to other mid-range and low-end phones offered by companies like Xiaomi, Lenovo and Asus. Moreover, you can get a flagship OnePlus One for $300, which comes with way better specs, so we’re not sure how the new Galaxy E5 and E7 will fare on the market this year.

The Galaxy E5 specs include a 5 inch display with a 720*1280 resolution, a quad core 1.2 GHz CPU backed by 1.5 GB RAM and 16 GB expandable internal storage, 5 MP camera on the front, 8 MP camera on the rear and a 2400 mAh battery. The Galaxy A7 isn’t much different, save for the fact that it has a larger display measuring 5.5 inches with the same 720*1280 resolution. The Galaxy E7 comes with slightly upgraded specs, too, as under the hood we find the Snapdragon 615 quad core 1.2 GHz CPU, backed by 2 GB RAM and 16 GB expandable internal storage. The camera is also upped compared to the Galaxy E5, as the rear camera measures 13 MP while the front camera measures 5 MP. The handset also gets a bigger battery measuring 2950 mAh. Both the Galaxy E5 and Galaxy E7 run on Android 4.4 KitKat with TouchWiz out of the box. Do you think their prices are decent or do you believe Samsung jumped the gun with them?
