Microsoft is heavily dominating headlines this week, as various new screenshots and leaked images of Windows 10, Windows 10 Phone and Project Spartan are flooding the internet. The latest rumor about a Windows 10 Phone has emerged today saying that LG and Verizon are teaming up to release a flagship running the brand new mobile operating system in the future.
There is history between Microsoft and LG, so we’re not surprised by the rumor that the company will be releasing one of the first Windows 10 Phone units with Verizon. Still, LG hasn’t been a partner to the platform for a long time, so it would be nice to see the company come up with something new. A product number has been spotted online by MyLGPhones, namely LGVW820. That number points towards a Windows 10-running LG smartphone that should be released on Verizon.
LG has talked about a new Windows device they were working on last year, but the idea hasn’t come to fruition as of yet. Still, we can confirm that the company is indeed working closely with Microsoft to release a new Windows 10 Phone, which is exciting news. Neither Microsoft nor LG have commented on what kind of Windows 10 Phone they would be releasing, but we can speculate upon the fact that it will most likely be a flagship model. Either a Windows 10 version of the upcoming LG G4 or of the recently launched LG G Flex 2.
Flagships like the LG G4 are set to launch at the MWC 2015 in Barcelona, Spain, so the phones might come around later in the year touting Windows 10. Since Windows 10 for Phones will most likely be ready sometime this Summer, we think an LG G4, HTC One M9 for Windows or an LG G Flex 2 with Windows 10 is a likely development for the Summer months or for IFA 2015 in the Fall. Whatever phone LG is planning to launch as the next Windows 10 Phone, we’re fairly sure it’s going to be a flagship worthy of attention. From leaked Windows 10 for Phones screenshots we can speculate that the OS will be feature-packed and better than ever. What kind of phone do you think LG is thinking about putting Windows 10 on?
