iOS 8, in general, brings a multitude of improvements over the 7th version of the OS. That being said, many feel that Apple did rush the release of iOS 8 slightly, causing a multitude of users (especially iPhone 5 and iPhone 5S) to suffer from extreme battery drain in the OS’ first versions. Most of the major issues have been since sorted out, with iOS 8.1.2 being rolled out a month ago, but the truth is, there are still a multitude of bugs and issues that need addressing. According to several reports, and confirmed by GSMArena, we’ll be getting a new iOS update, mainly iOS 8.1.3, as soon as next week.
The Cupertino-based tech giant does have a lot of polishing to do on its latest operating system, that much is certain, and the upcoming iOS 8.1.3 patch is all about bug fixing and improving stability. From what we’ve heard so far, some of the major fixes will touch upon battery drain and bugs relating to the keyboard not showing up in certain scenarios. Other issues being touched upon are problems with copy-pasting text, various UI and quality of life bug fixes, as well as improvements to general stability. A complete and official change-log isn’t available yet, but retailer and carrier employees have already received version of the upcoming iOS versions for testing purposes, and are reporting positive results.
The iOS 8.1.3 update should make its way to your iPhone or iPad next week, so keep an eye out for any potential update prompts. If you already got the update, let us know what your experience with it has been like!
