Hellblade is the latest title from developer Ninja Theory. The game was announced to be coming to the PlayStation 4, and it seems that it will be releasing on PC as well.
At Gamescom, Hellblade was announced to be coming to the PlayStation 4. The game was set for a 2015 release, and was described as a “independent AAA” title. Now it seems that we will see Hellblade on PC as well. The game may even feature mod support and 4K resolution. Ninja Theory creative chief Tameem Antoniades had this to say: “I think PC offers us a level of freedom that we haven’t had before. We’re looking at everything we do on this project and figuring out better ways of doing things compared to how the traditional AAA console model works. And consoles are following suit with PC, but I think they’re years behind what things like Steam are doing. If we want to do an open beta right now, it’s a little bit trickier to do that than on PC…I think we want to get to the point where we can invite players and fans to add to the game, and do things that are unexpected, and suggest ideas or add-ons that can make the game richer.”
Announced at Gamescom 2014, Hellblade is based on Celtic myth. The game focuses on Senua, who embarks on a personal journey through a hellish underworld. Ninja Theory is calling Hellblade an “independent AAA” title, meaning that the game is being developed and published independently, but with all the quality and production values of the standard AAA game. Ninja Theory has mentioned that over the years they have developed three key strengths in their titles: ninja-class combat, strong character stories, and a unique art vision. In Hellblade, the team wants to take those strengths to the next level.
Hellblade will release sometime in 2015. The game will be available on PlayStation 4 and PC.
