Black Desert Online Players Receive Bans

Black Desert Online is currently in beta. The open beta started off rough last month when players exploited game mechanics. Now, it seems that there is a new wave of players taking advantage of the game’s mechanics.

The first set of exploits in the Black Desert beta involved players killing monsters that dropped a lot of gold and gave abnormal amounts of experience. Now, a new wave of players are abusing “something with the shop”, a buy back dupe, and more. Developer Pearl Abyss and publisher Daum are taking this issue seriously. Players who were taking advantage of the exploits have been permanently banned, and all money and items of players who lightly abused the bugs were deleted.

A free-to-play MMORPG, Black Desert has been in development since 2010. The game will use Pearl Abyss’ own “Black Desert” game engine, which was created to handle the seamless world and large-scale castle sieges. Black Desert takes place in a fantasy setting, and revolves around the conflict between two rival nations: the Republic of Calpheon and the Kingdom of Valencia. The game features a parkour system that will allow players to climb and explore buildings and obstacles. Players will be able create highly detailed characters with deep customization mechanics. Player housing will vary from tents to houses and buildings, which may be furnished. The game will have mounted combat, with players first having to tame and breed their mounts. Mounts will require feeding and care, cannot be stored in the inventory, and may be killed. Black Desert will have a dynamic weather system which can have large scales events, such as typhoons, that can influence gameplay. Localized weather can include events such as fog that will allow players to launch sneak attacks.

Black Desert Online is currently in open beta. The game will be released on PC. A PlayStation 4 version may be in the works. The game will reach Western shores in 2016.

About Egon Kilin

I’m Load The Game’s co-founder and community manager, and whenever I’m not answering questions on social media platforms, I spend my time digging up the latest news and rumors and writing them up. That’s not to say I’m all work and no fun, not at all. If my spare time allows it, I like to engage in some good old fashioned online carnage. If it’s an MMO with swords and lots of PvP, I’m most likely in it. Oh, and if you’re looking to pick a fight in Tekken or Mortal Kombat, I’ll be more than happy to assist!
