A tactical JRPG, Devil Survivor 2 Record Breaker is a remake of the original Devil Survivor 2. The game will add a wealth of new content, including a new scenario that picks up where the original Devil Survivor 2 ends. The new scenario adds new characters as well as new story elements. The new storyline can be accessed from the beginning menu, so those that have played the original version can just jump right into the new content. The new storyline should be just as long as a full RPG title, giving players a good chunk for the upgrade.
A part of the Shin Megami Tensei series, Devil Survivor 2 Record Breaker takes place in Japan, which is facing doom at the hands of demons. The player controls as a young silent protagonist, whose thoughts and actions are decided by the player. The main character will come across a varied cast of characters. This includes Hinako Kujou, a carefree dancer, and Keita Wakui, a young boxer who is a bit of a loner. Similar to the Persona series, which are also off-shoots of Shin Megami Tensei, there is a relationship system. Called the “Fate System,” players can develop relationships with the other characters. The stronger the relationship, the stronger that character is in battle.
