The HTC One M9, also known as HTC Hima, will not be unveiled in January at the CES 2015 like some of the other flagships as HTC is apparently opting for a March unveiling yet again. While this is merely a rumor for now, the information comes from a source that proved to be reliable in the past, so we’re inclined to believe it. Industry insider @upleaks shared the info on Twitter earlier today without revealing too many other details. However, he does say that the HTC One M9 will likely not be announced at the next big event of 2015 either. He also adds that HTC will host their own special event to unveil the device rather than announce it at the CES 2015 or the WMC 2015.

While many smartphone manufacturers tend to present their latest products at major events, HTC has been known to prefer doing it at their own shows. The successor of the HTC One M9 and current flagship HTC One M8 was also announced in a similar fashion this year and was launched shortly after the big unveiling. As for what the device will come equipped with, there are certainly plenty of rumors floating around, although some of them seem to be in contradiction with each other. Currently, word on the street is that the HTC One M9 will sport a 5-inch display with Full HD resolution, Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor, 3 GB of RAM, 20.7 MP primary camera, and 2,840 mAh battery. HTC Hima is expected to be powered by the Android Lollipop operating system.
Yesterday @upleaks also revealed that we can expected multiple color options, including Gray, Silver, and Gold. Needless to say, all these rumors about the HTC One M9 should be taken with a grain of salt for now. However, we can at least be fairly certain that a release date has been scheduled for March as traditionally that has been the month when HTC choose to launch their flagship smartphones.
