Assassin’s Creed Unity patch 4 delayed, new release date not announced

Ubisoft decided to delay the latest patch for Assassin’s Creed Unity in order to “refurbish the Paris map” following fan feedback. Patch 4 was initially supposed to go live yesterday and fix most of the game’s remaining issues, of which there are still quite a lot. The patch will presumably still be able to do that but it is unclear when players can expect the problems to be fixed as a new release date has not been announced. According to a statement by the company, the patch will be able to offer major performance improvements, which is why the whole Assassin’s Creed Unity map apparently needed to be changed.

“Rigorous quality control is of paramount importance to us, and your feedback over these past weeks has indicated that it is important to you as well,” a statement on the Assassin’s Creed Unity blog reads. “As stated last week, we’d expected to release the patch today (and we know that many are anticipating its release), but we are choosing to hold off until we can give you the improvements we’ve promised. We are committed to delivering major performance improvements, which requires that we refurbish the Paris map and that will take a few more days to hit the high level of quality our players deserve.”

Ubisoft already released three more patches for Assassin’s Creed Unity but they were far from being enough to fix all the issues the game shipped with. This is expected to change with the upcoming patch, although a full change log has still not been announced as of yet. However, the company did previously mention a few of the known problems such as Error CE-34878-0, low frame rates, legacy recognition issues, companion apps issues, crashes, freezes, various bugs, and more. Assassin’s Creed Unity was released on November 11th for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
