Guilty Gear Xrd Sign’s limited edition was delayed last week due to unforeseen circumstances. For those that were waiting for their limited edition copies, we now have a definitive date as to when they will receive them.
After a strike in the Port of Los Angeles and Long Beach, Aksys Games announced that Guilty Gear Xrd Sign’s limited edition will be released on December 23rd. Aksys has assured fans that the standard edition of the game will not be affected by the strikes, and will still release on the appointed date. The limited edition of Guilty Gear Xrd Sign will come inside a Backyard replica premium box. The game comes in an exclusive sleeve featuring a special illustration by Daisuke Ishiwatari, and comes packaged with the official Guilty Gear Sign Vocal Collection. The set also comes with the Guilty Gear Codex (a compilation of art and history from the series), and a scaled replica of Sol Badguy’s belt buckle in keychain form.
When Guilty Gear Xrd Sign releases, players will be able to access the game’s first DLC character for free. Elphelt will be available for early adopters from December 16th to January 5th. Including Elphelt, the game will feature 17 characters. While a large number of the fighters are veterans to the series, there a couple of new characters, including the DLC characters Elphelt and Leo Whitefang. For Guilty Gear Xrd Sign, developer Arc System Works dropped the series’ use of hand drawn 2D sprites in favor of cel-shaded graphics. This allows the game to have more dynamic camera movement, and gives the game a sense of 3D like visuals. The title is making use of the Unreal Engine 3, which allowed non-programmers to edit the game easily, and allow a simpler porting over to consoles.
Guilty Gear Xrd Sign will release on December 16th. The game will be available for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.
