Until Dawn is an upcoming horror title from developer Supermassive Games. To help entice gamers until the game’s release next year, a new trailer for the title was released at the PlayStation Experience.
On the PlayStation Blog, Supermassive Games released the trailer for Until Dawn from the past weekend’s PlayStation Experience, which can be seen below. The trailer follows one of the characters, Sam, as she attempts to get away from a intruder through the house and into the basement. Throughout the chase, there are a variety of decisions that the player will have to make. The decisions that they make will help shape the experience. Any decision in Until Dawn may not be fatal, but they could put you on a fatal path. Players must be careful; when one the characters die, they are permanently dead. That character is gone forever, and the story will adapt and continue without them.
Originally a PlayStation 3 exclusive, Until Dawn was reintroduced as a PS4 exclusive back in August. The game originally supported the PlayStation Move, though it is unknown if the title will still make use of the peripheral. Until Dawn follows 8 teenagers who spend the night in a log cabin on the anniversary of the death of one of their friends. Little do they know, they are being hunted by a crazed serial killer. With innovative choice mechanics and the Butterfly-Effect Interface, Supermassive Games claims that there will be thousands of possibilities that can happen in the game’s story. Even seemingly insignificant choices as well as huge moral dilemmas that will test your sense of fairness, good or evil, can have major consequences. The game will make use of the Killzone Shadowfall Engine, with enhancements being made in the lighting, camera, and animation systems.
Until Dawn is set for a release sometime next year. The game will be a PlayStation 4 exclusive.
