Samsung Galaxy S6 specs revealed thanks to AnTuTu

The Samsung Galaxy S6 flagship smartphone is already in the works and will be ready to launch earlier than anticipated if the rumors are to be believed. But while the specific release date is still a mystery for now, we at least got a look at what we think will be the device’s final specs. The upcoming handset was recently benchmarked on AnTuTu, and it seems like Samsung are equipping their 2015 flagship with phablet-size display and in-house processor. Assuming this benchmark test is the real deal, the Samsung Galaxy S6 will feature a very large 5.5-inch display with 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution. By comparison, its predecessor ‘only’ sports a 5.1-inch panel with 1080 x 1920 resolution.

The benchmark test also reveals that an Exynos 7420 octa-core 64-bit processor complete with ARM Mali-T760 GPU and 3 GB of RAM will be powering the Samsung Galaxy S6. Presumably, there will also be a Qualcomm Snapdragon version of the device which may or may not feature the latest Snapdragon 810 chipset. In addition, the device will also pack a 20 MP primary camera on the back along with a 5 MP front-facing camera that’s certain to be perfect for all your selfie taking needs. Rounding up the specs, we have 32 GB of internal storage memory and most likely a microSD card slot that will allow for additional storage memory. As for the operating system, the Samsung Galaxy S6 will be running on the latest Android Lollipop update.

All in all, the device is unsurprisingly an upgrade in pretty much every way over the Samsung Galaxy S5. However, I’m not sure if a large 5.5-inch screen is what people are really looking for right now. The Korean tech giant already has the Galaxy Note 4, so why launch another device with a similarly huge screen? In any case, make sure you take all of this with a grain of salt until the Samsung Galaxy S6 is officially announced as the flagship might undergo some changes by the time it’s launched.
