The first Hearthstone expansion called Goblins vs. Gnomes, will be available next week according to Blizzard.
It will be rolled out on December 8th in America on PC, Mac, and iPad. Tuesday December 9th will see the Hearthstone Goblins vs. Gnomes release in China, Korea, Taiwan and Europe on all of Hearthstone’s platforms.
This year’s BlizzCon had some big announcements from Blizzard with everything from their newest title called Overwatch, a dazzling take on the FPS genre to Hearthstone’s first expansion, Goblins vs. Gnomes.
So what can gamers expect from Goblins vs Gnomes? A bevy of 120 new cards and a new minion type, Mechs, will be added to Hearthstone which will undoubtedly feature new and unique ways to dominate in the turn based card game from Blizzard.
For those players that feel Hearthstone has grown stale or predictable, Goblins vs. Gnomes promises to shake things up. As Blizzard CEO and Co-Founder Mike Morhaime said in the official press release, “Goblins vs. Gnomes is going to turn Hearthstone on its head. It introduces a ton of new cards with all-new options for decks and strategies, and we can’t wait to see all the crazy combinations players come up with.”
Some of the new mechanics included in Goblins vs. Gnomes include novel uses for the Deathrattle. For those that don’t play Hearthstone, Deathrattle is a spell or action that is triggered when a minion (that includes Deathrattle) dies.
Some of the 120 cards that will be rolled out next week will utilize Deathrattle in ways that Hearthstone fans have never seen before. With Feign Death, a spell card will trigger all of the Deathrattles on the board without having to sacrifice your minions in the process.
If Feign Death is any indication of the twists and turns that Goblins vs. Gnomes will unleash on the decks in Hearthstone, then this December just got a whole lot more interesting.
