Pokemon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire may be remakes of the original Ruby and Sapphire games, but they still pay homage to the original games in interesting ways. One such way can only be unlocked by special means.
It may be a little tough, but dedicated players can transfer their Pokemon from the original Ruby and Sapphire games into the remakes. One such player was a gamer known as Tetra. According to him, when he transferred his Kyogre that he had kept since the original games, he was greeted with a special certificate in-game from Game Freak (seen below). He posted the certificate on Twitter. The certificate reads:
Dear player Tetra,
We hereby praise you with this certificate, for your unbreakable friendship and tight-knit bond with Kyogre.
From all members of the Game Freak staff.
Pokemon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire recently released on the 3DS. Remakes of the original Ruby and Sapphire, the new games add a plethora of new content and upgraded mechanics. New mechanics, such as Mega Evolution, appear in the games, and build upon these aspects that were introduced in the Pokemon X and Y games. The games add new features for the series that have not appeared in any of the other games. This includes the ability to fly around the region on the backs of Pokemon, discovering new areas and rare Pokemon. Also added was a new side-quest dubbed the “Delta Episode.” This quest features some of the rarer Pokemon from the original games.
Fans had looked forward to the remakes of these Pokemon games for years, even birthing the popular “Hoenn Confirmed” internet meme. The games were finally announced in May of this year. While the certificate does not offer much else, it is still and amazing gesture from Game Freak to acknowledge those gamers who have been dedicated to the series for all these years.
