Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 2: Sisters Generation is the upcoming sequel to the first Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth title for the PS Vita system. Now, Re;Birth 2 has been given a definite date for both North America and Europe, Idea Factory announced on Twitter.
Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 2: Sisters Generation will reach North America January 27. The title will be available in both retail and digital formats. The game will then release in Europe 3 days after, on January 30. Both of these releases are just behind the holidays, introducing RPG gamers to the New Year. The title will also be able to support the PlayStation TV.
The Hyperdimension Neptunia series is loosely based on the console wars. The 4 main characters all represent different console makers (Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, and Sega), and reside within a world called Gamindustri. These 4 “goddesses” battle each other in a war called the Console Wars.
Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 2: Sisters Generation follows the first Re;Birth. Both games are remakes of the original titles, and are ports from the PlayStation 3 to the PS Vita. Re;Birth 1 follows the plot of the original Hyperdimension Neptunia, while Re;Birth 2 follows the plot of Hyperdimension Neptunia Mk2. While the games follow the basic premise of the originals, there are major differences between them. The Re;Birth games add new characters, although they do remove some. The battle system has changed to the system featured from the original third game, and features reworked voice acting, music, and visuals.
A third Re;Birth title has been announced, entitled Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 3: V Century. The title releases in Japan December 18, 2014. There has been no word on a release outside of Japan. The title is based off of Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory. A fourth game to the main series, entitled Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory II is in development in Japan for a 2015 release. There is no word on whether or not the title will find its way West of japan.
