The Nexus 6 and Nexus 9, as well as the Nexus Player were launched earlier by Google and many of our previous suspicions about the devices have been confirmed. In the past few weeks, we tried to estimate as well as we could, how the Nexus 6 would look and feel like, and with most features, we were actually spot-on. What we didn’t know, however, is that the Nexus 6 would be getting Wi-Fi calling courtesy of T-Mobile.
Many of you have told us that you would like to see Wi-Fi voice calling on the Nexus 6, as well as a smaller version of the device and high quality screen. The screen on the Nexus 6 seems to be great, although many of you might find it unusually large. Nonetheless, a smaller version of the Nexus 6 seems to be out of the question, so those of you who have smaller hands and hoped that they would be surprised by a smaller Nexus 6, should go check out the Motorola Droid Turbo which is set to launch on October 29. The Wi-Fi calling on the other hand has now been confirmed by T-Mobile and will be coming to Nexus 6 devices early next year.
T-Mobile said that it would be sending out an OTA update to T-Mobile Nexus 6 devices that will enable Wi-Fi calling on the handset early in 2015. With the new OTA, the Nexus 6 will be the first in the Nexus line to offer such a features. Wi-Fi calling will allow Nexus 6 users to make phone calls as well as send texts using only their Wi-Fi connection. This feature will come in handy for everyone, but especially for those of you who will find yourselves in areas with poor reception every so often. T-Mobile also offers Wi-Fi calling for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus users.
T-Mobile will start selling the Nexus 6 on November 12 and you will be able to get it for $0 down with 24 monthly payments of $27.08. The Nexus 6 has a a 5.96 inch screen sporting a 1440 x 2560 resolution and 496 ppi pixel density and is powered by a Snapdragon 805 CPU backed by Adreno 420 GPU, 3 GB RAm and either 32 or 64 GB internal storage, non-expandable. You will be able to enjoy a 13 MP rear camera and a 2 MP front camera on the Nexus 6, as well as Motorola’s Turbo Charging capabilites for the 3220 mAH battery. Google’s latest Android 5.0 Lollipop will also be one of the most attractive features of the Nexus 6.
