Resident Evil: Revelations 2 producer Michiteru Okabe revealed at the New York Comic Con panel that those who pre-order the game on PlayStation 3 or PlayStation 4 will receive a bonus Raid mode.
While Resident Evil: Revelations 2 is only coming out early next year, pre-orders for PlayStation 4 will be available starting October 14. Those who own Sony’s last-gen console will be able to pre-order Resident Evil: Revelations 2 later this month. If you choose to pre-order the game on these platforms, you will receive the Raid Mode Throwback Pack for free. The pack, as suggested by its name, features stages from previous titles in the series, playabable through the game’s Raid Mode.
Storywise, Resident Evil: Revelations 2 is set between Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6. It features Claire Redfield as the main protagonist and Moira Burton as a supporting character. The game is a sequel to Resident Evil: Revelations, which was first released on the 3DS in 2012, with PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii U versions arriving the following year. Resident Evil: Revelations 2 is developed and published by Capcom. It will be released sometime in 2015 on the same consoles as Revelations 1, minus Nintendo’s Wii U. Additionally, Revelations 2 is coming out on the next-gen consoles, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Capcom revealed that Resident Evil: Revelations 2 will return to the series’ roots. Players start off with a weapon and a few bullets, but once they run out of ammo, they’ll have a hard time getting more. Furthermore, enemies won’t attack in hoardes, but only one or two at a time, forcing you into corners. The developer also revealed that Resident Evil: Revelations 2 will be an episodic title. It will contain four episodes, each released one week after the previous. According to the developer, each part will end in dramatic cliff-hangers. You can purchase a season pass for $25 and gain access to each episode as it is released, or you can buy the episodes individually, at $5.99 each.
