We’re pretty certain that Apple is currently working on the iPad Air 2 and the iPad Mini 3 and will officially announce them later this month. However, there are also rumors that the Cupertino-based company might be working on yet another tablet. Entitled iPad Pro, this device is believed to come equipped with a huge 12.9-inch display and we expect to see it launch sometime in December. Well, at lest that was the word on the street until recently. Now the Wall Street Journal reports that mass production for the iPad Pro has been delayed because Apple is currently trying to keep up with the demand for the iPhone 6 Plus. This coincides with recent reports saying that Apple is shifting its focus from the iPhone 6 to the iPhone 6 Plus.
The source claiming that the iPad Pro has been delayed said that “The top priority for the supply chain is to meet the overwhelming demand for the larger screen iPhones. The output of the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 Plus remains unsatisfactory. It would be challenging for display makers to split resources and spend a few months to ramp up production for a new larger screen iPad now.” This is hardly surprising as Apple wants to take advantage of the fact that the iPhone 6 Plus has become so popular. The company already has two other tablets on the way so the iPad Pro can wait just a little bit longer.
Aside from the screen size, there are very few details to go on at the moment regarding the iPad Pro. As for the iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3, rumor has it that both devices will come equipped with an Apple A8 64-bit chipset, TouchID fingerprint home button and NFC connectivity for Apple Pay. We’ll be able to learn much more about them in a week or so as Apple already send out invites for an event scheduled to take place on October 16th. Some more details about the iPad Pro might also be revealed at this event.
