The highly acclaimed Moto 360 smartwatch is now available for pre-order at several retailers in the UK. Amazon UK is asking £200 for the device and is offering it in Dark Chrome with Black Leather Strap and Light Chrome with Grey Leather Strap options. The retailer will start shipping the first Moto 360 units on November 1st. Clove UK is also offering these options and for the same price, but they will start shipping a bit early. The retailer says that a limited stock will ship out in late October, with the main stock scheduled to arrive sometime in November. O2 currently only has the Black version while Expansys only has the Gray one. MobileFun seems to be the only retailer that can offer the Black Metal and White Metal Moto 360 smartwatches. These models come equipped with metallic straps and are priced at £230. O2, Expansys and MobileFun don’t list the shipping date at this time.
The Moto 360 features a 1.5-inch LCD display with 320 x 290 resolution, 205 pixel density and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Hardware-wise, we’re looking at a Texas Instruments OMAP 3 processor complete with 512 MB of RAM. The device also comes with 4 GB of internal storage memory and IP67 certification, which makes it waterproof. Moto 360 can be synced with devices running on Android 4.3 or later via Bluetooth 4.0. Motorola’s first smartwatch wights 49 grams and measures 46 x 11 mm. The Moto 360 is also available in the US for the price of $250 .
Speaking of smartwatches, today LG’s G Watch R makes its debut in its home country of South Korea. The device is widely considered to be the main competitor to the Moto 360 and is priced at KRW 352,000 (around $332 or £205). LG is also said to be working on a new smartwatch that’s rumored to launch sometime later this year. Stay tuned for more news and updates.
