Paradox Interactive has announced that Crusader Kings 2 will be free to play this weekend on Steam to celebrate the game’s notable milestone of one million copies sold. Crusader Kings 2 is a grand strategy game with a story line that will take you back in the High and Late Middle Ages, featuring an incredible amount of gameplay detail. The player will be required to dig deep in the game’s cobwebs to discover all its intricacies and special tricks. Currently, the game is available on Steam with a 75% off sale. This is a chance for those passionate strategic game fans who were not so sure about this game to give it a go. But hurry up, because the offer is on until October 6th.
Crusader Kings 2 has been out since February 2012, and has grown rapidly on many players as the game has that “je ne sais quoi” factor that will make you like it after just a few campaigns. The game is as open-ended as you can get it, with no set goals and win-states, which will allow you to create your own version of history. This dynasty simulator will give you control over a Medieval Dynasty from 1066 to 1453. Also, The Old Gods DLC which was launched a while back will give you the chance to start your rule from the year 867. Using wisely your strategy skills in the wars you will carry will prove rewarding. Staging assassinations or fixing marriages will prove useful in your efforts to keep control of your dynasty.
Crusader Kings 2 will offer the player full control as he will build his own success or will fail miserably in his quests to reclaim glory. Your in-game “relatives” might prove more interested in playing “who’s in charge games” than to fight off the invading hordes. This will create instability, and will weigh down your efforts of creating a solid stronghold. A new expansion DLC has also been announced. It will be called “Charlemagne” and will go live on October 14th.
