Nintendo UK announced today that it will be hosting a special Super Smash Bros 3DS tournament to celebrate the launch of the game on Nintendo 3DS. British fans of the franchise will be able to register for the National UK Championship starting with October 3rd (the scheduled release date for the game), until October 8.
Super Smash Bros 3DS fans who are interested in participating will be required to have a copy of the game and own a Nintendo 3DS, 3DS XL, or 2DS and apply via the following link: www.nintendo.co.uk/supersmashbros3DStournament, starting with Friday. Nintendo UK advises fans to submit their applications in quickly along with the preferred date and location, in order to have a chance of making the heats, as the places available are limited.

“All Smash Bros heats will take place between October 11 and 12 at various GAME stores across the UK, with the final taking place on October 31 at York Hall in London. Prizes up for grabs include a Wii U console, a copy of Super Smash Bros Wii U, and a Smash Bros goody bag for the winner of the National UK Championship, while the runner-up will receive the latter prizes, including a copy of the Wii U game and a goody bag. The knock-out rounds of the tournament will determine 32 finalists, 4 from each of the 8 regional heats. The finalists will be competing for the final time at the York Hall in London, to claim the Super Smash Bros for Nintendo 3DS National Championship title and grand prize. The runner up will be awarded a Super Smash Bros 3DS copy for Wii U, when the game will be released in the UK this winter, plus other Smash Bros goodies. Registration: 3rd to 8th October 2014
Heats: 11th and 12th October 2014
Final: 31st October 2014
