We thought September was a busy month, but it seems that October will be no less busier, with HTC’s Double Exposure event coming up on the 8th, Apple’s launch event bringing the iPad Air 2 is scheduled for the 21st, the Nexus 9, Nexus 6 and Android 5.0 L are also scheduled for October and it seems Sony has a new event on the 9th coming up.
Sony has sent out invites for an October 9 event earlier today, held in New York City. The Sony event will probably mark the launch of the Sony Xperia Z3 line, including the Sony Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Compact and Xperia Z3 Compact Tablet. We might also see some demonstrations of the Sony SmartWatch 3 and Sony SmartBand Talk as well.
Sony has had trouble in the past convincing carriers to sell their phones, so the media event Sony will be holding in October might be focused on getting carriers aboard the Xperia line. We also know that Sony has been in a bit of trouble with smartphone sales recently and correctly hitting the U.S. market with the new Xperia Z3 devices will hopefully benefit Sony’s stance in the smartphone market.
The Sony Xperia Z3 features a 5.2-inch 1080p display, 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 processor, 3GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, and a 3,100mAh battery and has been recently named the smartphone with the best battery you can find out there. The Sony Xperia Z3 has toppled battery testing results and can last for 2 days with mixed use. That’s no small feat for a phone bordering the phablet-line. The Remote Play feature on the Xperia Z3 will surely cater to a wide audience, seeing as the PS4 has become widely popular in the U.S. since its recent release.
We don’t know for sure what the Sony event has planned for the media, but a launch of the Xperia line is more than likely. We do expect the company to unveil something more. though. Project Morpheus has been a bit absent from the news, so we would like to see some new developments in Sony’s virtual reality headset demonstrated at the event, as well.
