Nexus 6 will be a behemoth, after all

Rumors about the Nexus 6, or Shamu or Nexus X, are pouring in every day with people speculating whether it will be Moto S under a different name or whether it will have a fingerprint sensor or a 5.2, 5.7 or 5.9 inch display.

The Nexus 6 is one of the most anticipated devices of the year, with its predecessor, the Nexus 5, receiving awesome positive reviews and generally a lot of praise from Android enthusiasts. Latest rumors say that a 5.9 inch display is most likely to be featured on the Nexus 6. The Nexus 6 will be manufactured by Motorola and so far, leaks reveal that the handset is very similar to the Moto X handset.

The newest set of rumored specs include a 5.9 inch QHD display with 498 ppi on the Nexus 6, which might be well-received by some and criticized by others. Many were content with the smaller, 5 inch screen on the Nexus 5 and might dislike the phablet-sized Nexus 6. Nonetheless, phablets have been quite popular lately, with the iPhone 6 Plus, Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge releases.

The Nexus 6 will sport a Snapdragon 805 CPU and 3 GB RAM, beside a 13 MP rear camera and 3200 mAH battery. It’s a bit disappointing to learn that there will be no 64-bit support on the Nexus 6, but the device will still run Android 5.0 L (Lemon Meringue Pie, Lollipop, Lion), just the 32 bit version. A fingerprint sensor is also a likely feature to see on the Nexus 6, along with wireless charging similar to that on the Motorola Moto X. Newest information pegs the design of the Nexus 6 to be very similar to the Moto X design, which would make sense if the new Nexus device were named Nexus X.

The Nexus 6 was pegged for an October launch, maybe on the 16th, by the side of the HTC Nexus 9 tablet running on the Nvidia Tegra K1 processor. We had heard rumors that Google was not just announcing the Nexus 6, but launching it in the Play Store at the same time. This might be the case and we might be able to purchase the Nexus 6 in October, but a November launch date is just as likely.

All of the information we have on the Nexus 6 remains to be unconfirmed, because neither Google nor Motorola have officially discussed the Nexus 6 or what it will look like or how much it will improve compared to the Nexus 5. For all we know, Google might be planning a 5.2 inch Motorola device with a 64 bit CPU and 16 MP camera, no fingerprint sensor included. I would love that, but alas, it’s kind of unlikely at the moment. In consequence, take these rumors with a grain of salt, because we might see a lot of these specs change once we hit the presumed October 16 launch date.

My life-long dream has been to test out every gadget on the market! Considering the fact that I've rapidly destroyed almost every gadget I've had so far, I'm not inclined to owning something, so my ideal outcome would be to have a different gadget each month. I'm really into smartphones, wearables and tablets and I love Playstation and Xbox, I'm sure I'll beat you at your own game (after a month of training... or two)
