Sony announced that PlayStation Plus subscribers will be able to play online for no additional costs during the next weekend, through a special offer called “Open Weekend”
Starting Friday, the 26th of September, Sony will allow all PlayStation Plus subscribers to play online for free. This means that you can challenge your friends and fellow gamers from around the world in big, online battles and you don’t have to pay anything at all in order to do that.
Sony also reminds gamers of several new PS4 titles available for gamers to buy from the PlayStation Store: Destiny, Diablo 3, The Lasty of Us Remastered, Watch Dogs and Fifa 15. A PlayStation Plus subscription costs $9.99 per month, $17.99 for 3 months or $49.99 for a whole year. You can buy a PS Plus subscription through accessing the PS Store from your console. If, for some reason you don’t have access to your Playstation 3, Playstation 4 or Vita, Sony assures that you can purchase PS Plus from their online store.
PlayStation Plus is a program launched by Sony, which offers members several special features, such as cloud saves, discounts and much more. Also, a PlayStation Plus subscription is required if you want to use the online multiplayer modes of your PS 4 games (this only applies to titles that are not free to play). A PlayStation Plus membership applies to all of Sony’s current consoles, including PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and Vita. This means that by paying for one subscription, you gain access to the service on two or all three of these consoles, depending on which one(s) you own. A PS Plus subscription also grants you an Instant Games Collection. This consists of a series of free games that you can play whenever you feel like it. Additionally, you can get discounts of up to 75% on the PS Store.
PlayStation Plus open weekend starts this Friday at 9 AM CET and ends on Monday, the 26th of September, at 10 AM CET.
