Samsung has become pretty aggressive as of late when it comes to launching and promoting its new devices. The company even decided to launch the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 earlier than anticipated in order to get to its customers asap in light of the iPhone 6’s record-breaking sales. Strangely enough, pretty much all the hype revolving around the Samsung Galaxy S5 died out by now, even though it was considered to be the best smartphone around for a while. Rumor has it that its successor, the Samsung Galaxy S6 might also arrive a bit earlier than expected next year and people are already wondering about its design. While we’ll still have to wait a while until Samsung reveals the final design, a certain concept artist who goes by the name of Tobias Hornof has already created some concept images showcasing the Samsung Galaxy S6.
In Hornof’s view, the smartphone will be a bit more rectangular than its predecessor and will feature very slim bezels. The front of the device is a bit reminiscent of the iPhone 6 while also burrowing from the design of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. On the back we can find a square area for the camera, a single flash and presumably a flash sensor. Hornof’s Samsung Galaxy S6 concept also features a metallic frame and is overall thinner than previous Galaxy S models. Indeed, the latest trend seems to be thinner and bigger smartphones so this design is not that far fetched.
As for the specs. the concept artist didn’t provide any, but we can make a few speculations based on previous rumors. The Galaxy S6 is believed to feature a 5.2-inch display complete with 1440 x 2560 resolution. Hardware-wise, word on the street is that the device will end up sporting a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 quad-core processor @ 2.5 GHz, 3GB of RAM and a 16 MP primary camera with optical image stabilization. Seeing as how Android L is scheduled to launch later this year, it’s possible that the Samsung Galaxy S6 will run on this latest version of the operating system. Hornof also created a concept image in which the Samsung Galaxy S6 is compared with all of its predecessors. Check it out below.
