The infamous racing simulator, Gran Turismo 6 has now received a brand new 1.12 patch containing new features and content. Almost a year in now since the game’s official release, Poliphony Digital shows a constant appetite for improving the game. This new update is meant to spoil GT 6 fans, featuring two additional high performance cars, a new online mode and a new circuit on which to prove your driving skills. The patch will also fix a series of previous bugs in the game, adding a few gameplay alterations as well. Coming back to the cars, the two new featured models are coming from Japanese giants Nissan and Toyota. The first one is the Toyota FT1 Vision Gran Turismo specially intended for Gran Turismo 6, and the second, the Nissan GT-R NISMO.
The FT1 concept has been designed to appeal to racing fanatics, with a body and engine meant for pure competition. The car can be unlocked by completing the new limited time FT-1 Seasonal Event, regardless of the lap time you set. Moving on, the new Online Quick Match mode involves basic racing, allowing the players to take part in events with pre-determined regulations. Gran Turismo 6 is also presenting a new long course circuit, the “Circuito de la Sierra”, inspired by Spain’s Ronda region, where players will be required to complete the race within a set time limit. This challenge will be rewarding in terms of combo and score levels when overtaking other opponents and storming through speed traps if players will be able to avoid collisions.
The new “Circuito de la Sierra” track is available in both offline single player and online race modes. Finally, new Nissan GT-R NISMO for Gran Turismo 6 is the icing on the cake. This racing beast was first launched in 2007 and holds the Nurburgring Nordschleife (North Course) record as the fastest volume production car. The GT-R will be granted automatically to every player that took part in this year’s GT Academy online event. Gran Turismo 6 is an exclusive PS3 title which will be getting a sequel for next year, according to Poliphony Digital.
