Frogwares released a trailer that showcases the locations players will have to explore in order to solve the cases they will be faced with in “Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments”. According to the developer, some of these will be luscious gardens, Victorian manors or grim crime scenes.
Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments, just like the previous games in the series, takes place in the original setting of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s canon stories: Victorian London. The video below is the third in a series that was released to show the new features of Crimes and Punishments, the other two being teasers for two of Sherlock’s abilities: subversion and interrogation.

According to Frogwares, London and its suburb are composed of exotic locations, full of culture and class. Whether we’re talking of moon-lit grimy alleys or of Chinese gardens, every place can be a setting for a theft or a murder that Sherlock Holmes is investigating. The player, along with Watson (hopefully not the teleporting version) will visit famous locations in around London, such as Kew Gardens and the Roman city of St. Albans. Each of the six unique cases in the new Sherlock Holmes game brings you a new location to explore and, eventually, piece together the clues and choose to absolve or condemn a suspect. For the first time in Frogwares’ series, Scotland Yard makes an appearance. It will be the central hub, where you can interrogate suspects once they’re arrested, examine evidence or inspect corpses after the autopsy is made to make sure that no clues are missed.
Frogwares states that they will keep releasing one video per week until the game comes out. Be sure to check our site for the latest news in order to keep in touch with the development. Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments will be launched on September 30, for Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC.
