Electronic Arts have allegedly renounced this feature to stop cheaters from selling coins and create imbalance in the game. Rob Hodson, the FIFA community manager explained this decision in a post on EA forums as follows:
“We’ll be removing Trade Offers from FIFA 15 Ultimate Team. Although some honest players used this feature to trade with friends, it became one of the methods used by coin sellers to sell and move coins. Account phishers also abused Trade Offers by moving stolen players and coins after wrongfully gaining access to unsuspecting FUT player accounts. This will also address ‘bid bumping’, where people would try and trick others into bidding far more than they wanted for a player item. It was a tough decision, but this is the right step towards improving security, showing cheaters the red card, and keeping FUT safe for all FIFA fans.”
Additional to this major change in the game, producers have decided to introduce a limit regarding the maximum number of transfer targets to be set in Ultimate Team. FIFA 15 users will be limited to 50 bids at a time, being required to perform Origin login verification when using the web app version of Ultimate Team. EA addressed FIFA fans on this matter in an open letter in late August, titled “Showing cheaters the red card,” in which they say they will be targeting cheaters that made a habit out of farming Ultimate Team coins via bots or those who are buying the coins in order to sell them on unauthorized websites. It looks like the cheating days are over, and FIFA developers look to ensure total virtual fair-play in the old school spirit of this beautiful game.
FIFA Ultimate Team producer, Marcel Kuhn shares in an interview with CVG further details on the matter: “We’ve seen these problems becoming bigger and bigger and we’ve been taking counter-measures in the background for a while now, but now it’s just reached a point that we want to make sure everybody understands what’s going on.” FIFA 15 is there with the most anticipated titles of the year. It is set to launch on September 23rd in North America, September 25th in Europe, and September 26th in the UK. The game will be available on Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, PC, 3DS and Vita. Excited? Let’s play!
