Developer Nicalis announced that they are going to release “The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth” in November 4, 2014. The game is a remake of the 2011 indie game “The Binding of Isaac”. The game will be released on Playstation 4, PS Vita, PC, OS X and Linux. The developer is currently in talks with Microsoft and Nintendo regarding the posibility of a release on their consoles as well. For more details, you can watch the weird trailer the indie developer has released in order to announce the game (warning, it’s got a ‘Mature’ rating):
According to Tyrone Rodriguez from Nicalis, “The Binding of Isaac” combines elements from Legend of Zelda and Smash TV. The developer also state that “Rebirth” will contain hundreds of items, weapons and power-ups. Rodriguez says that the game literally takes over 500 hours of gameplay to complete. He states that it takes a lot of time to find and unlock all the secrets in the game. Each session will differ, as enemies, rooms, levels and drops are randomly generated. This means that you get a different experience every time you die or start a new game. The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth will have over 450 items, weapons and power-ups that will affect gameplay in different ways.
The game features over 50 bosses, including updated versions of the ones from the original game and several new additions. Rodriguez says that they have modified the way bosses behave, adding a certain level of complexity to them. The Binding of Isaac has a weapon combo system. When you pick three weapon upgrades, the attributes of these weapons might merge and create a new and more powerful weapon. All in all “Rebirth” is yet another promising indie title, which seems like it’s going to be a lot of fun to play.
