Motorola’s Moto G2 is one of the 8 devices the company wants to release by the end of the year, trying to boost sales and improve marketing strategies. The Moto G2 and Moto X+1 are the most talked about Motorola smartphones at the moment, so a leaked preview of the Moto G2 comes quite in handy.
We have been fairly certain of the apparition of the Moto G2 at IFA Berlin in September, but these leaked photos from HellomotoHK’s Facebook page not only confirm the gadget, but give juicy information about what it will look like in the end. In the photos, we can see that Motorola didn’t stray much from their signature design, which will be appreciated by most Moto fans out there, since it’s a flat and ergonomic design most have appreciated about the Moto G.
The photos show the Moto G2 with the battery cover removed, exposing dual SIM card slots and a microSD card slot as well. The front facing speaker configuration can be observed on the bottom of the Moto G2, which will likely reproduce stereo audio.
The device appears quite large in images, so we might be looking at something bordering phablet sized phones, but we can’t tell for sure from the photos because we don’t actually have an object of reference, except the hand holding the device. Previous leaks suggest a 5 inch display on the Moto G2, so we deducted that the leaked images might just be accurate enough for that size.
So far, we expect the Moto G2 to be a cheap device with good specs and quality materials. Supposedly, the smartphone will shoot with an 8 MP rear camera, sport a 720p display. 1.2 GHZ quad core Snapdragon 400 CPU and 1 GB of RAM. According to rumors, the price of the device will be at around $200 per unit, but we hope that will decrease after release, since the Moto G2 is not that far off the original Moto G.
Nothing is set in stone yet, so we will just have to wait until September to find out for sure what the Moto G2 will offer us. If you think about it, there’s only a week left until Motorola’s event at Chicago’s Merchandise Mart.
