Titanfall, Dishonored, Borderlands 2 and and other free games this weekend

If you’re looking for some free games to play this weekend there’s quite a selection of great titles awaiting you. No less than five games are available to try out for the very cheap price of absolutely nothing until Sunday, and even beyond in some cases. First off, you can play Gearbox Software’s first-person shooter RPG Borderlands 2 for free until Sunday 1 PM Pacific Time and you can purchase it for 75% off as part of 2K Games’ Steam sale. A plethora of other titles by the publisher are also available at a discount as part of this sale including Bioshock 1&2 (with all the DLC), both Borderlands games, XCOM Enemy Unknown and Enemy Within, The Bureau: Xcom Declassified, and Civilization 5. Discounts range from 50% off all to the way to 83% off so it’s definitely worth taking a look.

Also on Steam, you can play Arkane Studios’ highly acclaimed stealth action-adventure title, Dishonored for free until Sunday 1PM Pacific Time. Dishonored can also be purchased at a considerable discount of 75% off for the Standard Edition or 66% off for the Game of The Year Edition, which includes all the DLC. Want even more free games? No problem. We leave Steam and arrive on Origin where we find a few other great games to try out completely free of charge. Both Titanfall and Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare are available via the Origin Game Time program, which means that you can play them for free for a limited time. However, this is a bit different from traditional offers of this kind as most of the free games featured here have a timer and you can choose when to activate it. For example, Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare is available for 72 hours on Game Time but  you can download it now and play some other time. The countdown begins only once you’ve entered the game for the first time and have activated the timer. However, the offer expires on Sunday so make sure you add it to your library before then.

You can also do this with Titanfall, but the game is only available for 48 hours. On the bright side, this offer apparently wont expire in the near future so take your time with redeeming it. Two other free games have been made available as part of this program some time ago and while the Battlefield 4 offer has since expired, you can still try out Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning for 48 hours. Origin also has another program that offers free games, but you get to keep them permanently if add them to your collection before the offer expires. This program is called On The House and currently features Wing Commander 3: Heart of the Tiger.
