Dragon Ball Xenoverse confirmed to feature character creation

Remember the mysterious red-haired warrior we’ve been teased with ever since Dragon Ball Xenoverse was first announced? Well, it turns out this new fighter will be you, the player, just as many have assumed. Bandai Namco confirmed this earlier along with more interesting details regarding the upcoming game. But you don’t necessarily have to look like that as the game features a complex character creation system that will allow you to customize your fighter. Aside from being able to choose between a variety of accessories and physical traits, you will also be able to pick between several of the main races from the Dragon Ball Z universe. The company says that current races include Earthling, Majin, and Namekian, but more will be announced before Dragon Ball Xenoverse releases.

I assume that Sayian will also be added at some point as this is arguably the most famous race in the whole Dragon Ball Z universe. The game is inspired by DBZ so I think that’s a pretty safe assumption to make. Other playable races might include Android, Shin-Jin, Tuffle, or even Ogre. Bandai Namco also revealed that the player will have to complete a series of tasks for Trunks at the beginning of Dragon Ball Xenoverse. They probably serve as a tutorial. even though the publisher calls it a “deadly test.” In any case, whether the player succeeds or not in this mission, he will be able to begin interacting with other players shortly after. That’s right! Dragon Ball Xenoverse features online play and everyone can gather in a hub called Toki Toki City.

The game’s Closed Beta testing phase will begin  sometime in the coming months with more details to arrive in the near future. Deagon Ball Xenoverse will be released next year for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
