Assassin’s Creed Unity map is similar in size to the actual map of 18th century Paris

Last month Ubisoft claimed that Assassin’s Creed Unity will take place on a “massive scale”, and even went as far as to say that the game will be a 1:1 recreation of 18th century Paris. “Paris and its monuments are really on a 1:1 scale because you’ll be able to go inside [of buildings] seamlessly with no loading.” This may have sounded like an exaggeration but there is now some evidence that seems to back up this claim. Well, maybe evidence is not the right word here as we’re talking about a leaked map that may or may note be real. It does look genuine if you ask me but take a look below and judge for yourselves.

On the right you can see the Assassin’s Creed Unity leaked map and on the left you’ll find an actual map of 18th century Paris. This comparison was made on Reddit by the user UltiiE while the original image was posted by Skeela. The leak was accompanied by the following message: “It looks huge and diversified. To give you an idea of size : just look at the “Île de la Cité” in the middle, all the streets, almost a little village! And don’t forget we can enter 1/4 of the buildings, so the map will seem bigger!”

We can’t be 100% certain that we’re looking at the real Assassin’s Creed Unity map, but if we are, then the game will truly be massive, just as Ubisoft promised. The company also revealed that while most of the game will take place in Paris you will also be able to visit some nearby places, like the Palace of Versailles for example. Assassin’s Creed Unity is scheduled to be released on October 28th for Xbox One, PS4, and the PC. Stay tuned for more news and updates.
