Two new LG G3 models will arrive next month

More than two months have passed since the LG G3 was first released on May 27th. Back when the device was announced LG said that it will end coming in five variants: Silk White, Metallic Black, Shine Gold, Burgundy Red, and Moon Violet. Thus far, only the first three colors are available, but we’re also going to see the other two soon enough according to the company. “Additional G3 colors such as Moon Violet and Burgundy Red will be rolled out in select markets starting in August and continuing over several weeks. Exact colors and dates will be decided locally in conjunction with carriers. Announcements will be made in each market at the time of availability,” LG said in a statement.

Now we know that the LG G3 will come in five colors starting next month, but we still need to find out which U.S. carriers will be able to offer the Burgundy Red and Moon Violet models. At the moment AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile are all offering the Silk White and Metallic Black versions while Sprint is the only one that has the Shine Gold. We can expect the two new models to be exclusive to a certain carrier, or maybe even to a certain retailer. More info will apparently arrive sometime in the following weeks so we’ll just have to wait a while longer before we can say anything for sure.

The LG G3 was released last month in the U.S. and is already considered to be one of the best, if not the best smartphone currently available on the market. LG’s latest flagship comes equipped with a QHD display measuring 5.5-inches, running at 2560 x 1440 resolution, and packing 534 ppi. Under the hood you will find a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor @ 2.5 GHz, Adreno 330 GPU, and 2GB/3GB RAM options. Some others specs include a 13 MP primary camera with OIS, 2.1 MP secondary shooter, a massive 3.000 mAh battery, and 16GB/32GB internal storage memory options. The LG G3 also features a microSD card slot that’s good for up to 128 GB of additional storage. The handset currently runs on the Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system.

This device has many competitors, some of them include Samsung’s Galaxy S5, the HTC One M8, Sony’s Xperia Z2, and the iPhone 5s. LG G3 will most likely also be competing with the upcoming iPhone 6, which is said to arrive sometime during mid-September. Stay tuned for more news and updates.
