Titanfall, EA’s mech shooter, will be free to play this weekend on Origin, the company’s digital distribution platform. The announcement came via their blog.
This comes as part of the new Game Time program on Origin, which allows you to play full games on a timed limit. That’s right; this is not a demo or some watered down version of the game, EA is offering the real deal. Once you launch the game, the clock starts, and you have 48 hours of mech-smashing, wall-jumping fun. But keep in mind this clock ticks down in real time, so even when not playing the game, time is running out. So be sure to free up some time this weekend and see how you like Titanfall, which has so far received critical acclaim for its innovative pilot/mech gameplay system, specifically in the multiplayer modes. If you can’t get enough, don’t worry about your progress. EA says that it will be carried over via your Origin account if you purchase the complete game.
The deal will launch across the world in a few hours, and seems almost too good to be true. Even better, Game Time will become a regular thing, with new games every time, and different time limits to play each one, so stay tuned for more great free games. All Game Time offers will appear on the Free Games page on Origin.
And while you’re over there, be sure to check out their new On the House free game Peggle, the wildly addictive puzzle shooter. And speaking of deals and digital distribution platforms, the Steam Summer Sale is going on right now, so be sure to check out our Best Buys of the sale, and head over to the Store as well to find any other deals which will pop up over the next 11 days.
