The HTC One (M8) is undoubtedly a great device and highly sought after on the market. European owners of the HTC One (M8) might notice that their device is getting a stability update OTA. This is the first major post-release update if we exclude the update after its launch that added Extreme Power Saving mode. The new firmware version 1.54.401.10 is 66MB in size so make sure you’re connected to your Wi-fi network. Also make sure that your device is at least half charged. And most importantly be patient, the update might not be available for your device right away depending on your area and carrier.
The update is intended to fix bugs and improve the stability of some apps. All these changes will be behind the scenes and will offer no visual improvements. The official change-log states that it will improve Radio stability, Camera stability, Video highlight stability, FM Radio stability and Weather app barometer update. Not a long change-log but it’s good to know that HTC is working on perfecting its flagship. The HTC One (M8) should become more stable than ever. When the new software update becomes available it will show up in the notification area. Tap on it and let it download and install. During installation your device might restart and show some unfamiliar behavior. Don’t panic, this it all natural. It the update does not show up in the notification area you can make your phone look for it by going into the Settings menu > About phone > Software updates > Check for software updates.
