According to a recent report, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 4 “phablet” will come with some brand new features. The information comes from a well placed insider and reveals that these features are currently being tested on the Samsung Galaxy S5 with Android 4.4.3 KitKat. Although Note 4 rumors have been plentiful as of late, this is the first time we hear something from what seems to be a reliable source. We’ll have to wait and see if this info pans out, but for now let’s take a look at the features described in the report.
First off, the article mentions something called “Swipe to launch Motion Launcher”. While no further details were given, it is assumed this feature is similar to the “Motion Launcher” that can be found on the HTC One M8. On the One, you can use a combination of motion and finger gestures in order to wake up the device when it’s in sleep mode. Next, we have something called “Aqua Capture”, which sounds like it might be inspired by the Aqua Mode found on the Galaxy S4 Active. This feature allows users to take pictures while under water so that means the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 might end up being water resistant.
Moving on, another one of the features rumored for the Note 4 is called “Multi Network for Booster”. The Galaxy S5 already has something similar called Download Booster, which combines mobile data and WiFi connections in order to allow for large files to be downloaded faster. Assuming the source is correct, the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will also come with something along these lines. The last feature mentioned in the article is the Smart Fingerprint, which is assumed to be a way for users to customize certain actions just by swiping over the fingerprint sensor.
We’ll consider these as rumors for now, at lest until something official is announced. Unfortunately, that might take a while as the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is only expected to launch sometime in September. Early reports claimed the device will be unveiled at the IFA Trade Show which takes place during 5-10 September in Berlin. However, the latest rumors now point at a September 3rd release instead. We’ll keep you updated as soon as we learn something new so stay tuned.
