Watch Dogs – Consoles vs. PC settings

Ubisoft revealed the difference between the graphical fidelity gamers will get on consoles vs. the PC in Watch Dogs. It seems that both Xbox One and PlayStation 4 will run at the same level of graphical settings, the only difference being the resolution at which the game runs. PC gamers on the other hand have a choice in all this.

Jonathan Morin, creative  for Watch Dogs, revealed that the game on the current-gen consoles should look as good as it runs on a PC that uses High settings. That’s good news for the people who will opt for an Xbox One or PlayStation 4 version of the game, but it’s better news for the PC players. It seems that the game will also offer an Ultra setting, for those who have the hardware to back that up.

You can assume that you’ll get even better graphical quality from the PC game even on High settings, considering that the resolution of the game is capped at 900p for the PS4 version and 792p for the Xbox One. The PC game can run in any resolution the display can show, so even with High Settings, you get better picture quality in resolution of 1080p and beyond.

In order to run the game on those Ultra settings, you need a monster of a PC equipped with a new generation Intel Core i7, a minimum of 6 GB of RAM and a GeForce 780 GTX. If you add the prices of these three components you will get a sum equal to the sum of both consoles combines and then some, so most gamers will get the same experience, regardless of the platform of choice. Considering that below we have the minimum specs, this is probably a system that reflects the average gamers’ PC configuration that will probably run the game on medium settings.
