As promised by Microsoft, the event on the 20th of May in New York City was quite amazing. At the press event, the CEO Satya Nadella and Surface Corporate Vice President Panos Panay revealed the company’s desire to beat every laptop in the world by promoting the new Surface Pro 3. Contrary to the rumors before the event, the tablet’s price will start at 799$ and not 1500$. The Surface Pro 3 will be available in the US and Canada on June the 20th, but the international release will take place in August.
Surface devices so far weren’t the most successful ever, but this tablet seems really impressive. With the 12 inch screen and remarkably thin body, 9.1 mm thick, it weights 800g and it is all black. It includes a keyboard-cover, which is why the device is very comfortable to use. More than that, this time the cover is 63% bigger than the previous one belonging to the Surface Pro 2. Although some technical issues were encountered at the event due to poor internet connection, the tab is supposed to download apps and sync in less than 30 seconds. Leaving the bad habits behind, the device runs Windows 8.1 operating system, i3 Core and most of the participants at the event were impressed with its speed and response to commands. Surface Pro 3 includes a stylus that works like a regular pen and makes taking notes incredibly easy.
Consumers are trying to compare the new device to the Macbook Air but this kind of comparison is not valid yet. Some would say that the device looks more like an iPad than a laptop, but further reviews will take place after the device will actually circulate on the market. New pictures of the Surface Pro 3 are available since the event, giving potential buyers an idea about the elegance and comfort of the tab.
