Motorola has already seen great success with the Moto G and the Moto X Android handsets, and is now expected to announce its latest smartphone, probably called Moto X+1 on 13 May. The leaked infos referred to the Motorola XT912A, which is thought to be the new Moto X+1, so there might not be a Moto “X+1”, though a new and much expected smartphone will definitely be announced, regardless of the name. The device is expected to have updated hardware and specifications regarding imaging and OS, considering the X+1 is rumored to be the new flagship, we are quite sure it’ll be just that.
The leaked specifications suggest that the Moto X+1 will have a 5.2 screen with 1920 x 1080 resolution, a 2.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 2GB of memory and 24 GB of storage and it will run Android 4.4.3 KitKat. The device will also feature a 12 megapixels camera on the back and a 2 megapixels camera on the front. Compared to the Moto X, the X+1 is a huge step forward for Motorola, having a bigger screen (5.2” compared to the X’s 4.2”) and better processor (2.2GHz compared to 1.7GHz processor on the Moto X).
The X+1 won’t be the only surprise on 13 May, the potential announcement of the Moto E has already stirred rumors all around the internet. The Moto E is expected to be the successor of the Moto G launched in 2013, that turned out to be a real success and proving that a “not so expensive” device could satisfy a picky customer, even if it couldn’t compare to Samsung Galaxy S4 or to the iPhone 5S in terms of sales. The Moto E will probably come with a 4.3” display, a 5 megapixel camera, dual-core CPU, 1GB RAM, 4GB internal storage and microSD card support.
The main event will be held in London starting at 8:45 AM, according to the invitation, though it doesn’t mention what devices will be officially announced. With a title like “Made to last. Priced for all.” Motorola might have admitted that the rumors about the Moto X+1 and the Moto E, surfacing all over the internet lately, are true. According to some other rumors, not only some new smartphones will be announced next Tuesday, but the Moto 360 smartwatch as well. So we’ll just have to wait and see what Motorola prepared for this event and find out if all the rumors and leaked specifications are true. We really hope so.
